Andrew Tate has been indicted on several charges, including trafficking minors, money laundering, and sexual offenses, in Romania. These allegations were detailed by Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism. The offenses reportedly involve the exploitation of a minor, moved to Luton in the UK for sexual exploitation and pornography. Tristan Tate, Andrew’s brother, faces accusations of seeking to pervert justice and complicity.
Romanian authorities did not specifically name the Tate brothers but described an investigation into two British men of the same family aged 39 and 38. Local media, including Romania’s national news agency Agerpres, identified the Tate brothers, who hold dual U.S. and British citizenship, as the accused.
Eugen Vidineac, a Romanian lawyer for the Tates, emphasized their intent to scrutinize the indictment thoroughly and challenge any weaknesses through the judicial process. As of now, the Tate brothers remain in U.S. custody while awaiting a judge’s decision on their extradition to Britain, where they face rape charges. Their arrest by U.S. Marshals took place in Miami in July.
The Tates have consistently denied wrongdoing related to legal actions in the UK and Romania. Joseph McBride, their representative, stated to Newsweek after their arrest that Andrew and Tristan are innocent. He expressed confidence that a competent judge and the U.S. Department of Justice would address what he perceives as misuse of authority, leading to their release. McBride asserted, “America does not do Britain’s political dirty work.”
This situation remains evolving, and further updates are anticipated.
