Brandi Glanville, known for her role on ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,’ recently shared her fears about contracting a ‘sexually transmitted ringworm’ in her throat. During an episode of the ‘Brandi Glanville Unfiltered’ podcast, she discussed her concerns with former adult film star Lisa Ann.
Glanville, 53, connected her health worries to a past relationship with someone in the adult film industry. Lisa Ann explained that ringworm is ‘very common on set’ and emphasized the importance of checking for signs, which are often hard for most people to identify.
We had to train our makeup artists that when a new member of talent would show up, they would have to get naked in a window where there’s good light, and they would inspect their body to see if they see any patches because it’s incredibly contagious,Ann said.
According to the Mayo Clinic, ringworm is a common and highly contagious fungal infection affecting the skin, hair, or nails. Despite its name, it is not caused by a worm.
Glanville revealed that a friend informed her about the condition after she experienced various symptoms. This revelation added another layer to her medical concerns, especially after she underwent a series of inconclusive tests. She highlighted that the infection could spread to her throat and ears, complicating diagnosis.
Her partner’s background in wrestling might have exposed him to the infection, leading to its transmission, Glanville suspects.
Previously, Glanville reported to Fox News Digital that she thought a parasite from a trip to Morocco in 2023 affected her health, leading to facial paralysis initially misdiagnosed as stress-induced angioedema.
Symptoms persisted, prompting Glanville to seek further explanation for what she described as a ‘disfigured face.’ Seeking accurate diagnoses became a priority, especially after treatments didn’t bring relief.
In February, medical investigations revealed ruptured breast implants from 20 years prior were aggravating her condition, not a parasite or ringworm as suspected earlier.
Her journey has been both costly and challenging, having spent over $70,000 in search of answers to her ongoing health issues.
