U.S. Conducts Self-Defense Strikes in Southern Iran

The United States has launched self-defense strikes in southern Iran, targeting missile sites and vessels that were attempting to set mines. This action was confirmed by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).

U.S. forces conducted self-defense strikes in southern Iran today to protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces. Targets included missile launch sites and Iranian boats attempting to emplace mines, said Captain Tim Hawkins, CENTCOM spokesman, in a statement to Newsweek.

CENTCOM reiterated its commitment to defending U.S. troops while exercising restraint amid the ongoing ceasefire. The strikes occurred alongside comments from President Donald Trump on Truth Social, indicating that negotiations with Iran are progressing.

President Trump remarked, It will only be a Great Deal for all or, no Deal at all — Back to the Battlefront and shooting, but bigger and stronger than ever before — And nobody wants that! He also urged Middle Eastern countries to join the Abraham Accords. Trump referenced U.S. efforts to resolve complex regional issues.
