Caitlin Clark delivered a solid performance on Sunday night as the Indiana Fever emerged victorious over the Seattle Storm. Clark scored 21 points, shooting 5-of-10 from the field. She succeeded in all nine free-throw attempts and sank two 3-pointers. This game marked the first time since September 19, 2024, that Clark attempted 10 or fewer field goals. In that previous game against the Washington Mystics, she shot 2-of-5 in 19 minutes of play.
During the game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on May 17, 2026, Clark demonstrated strategic play by focusing on teamwork rather than high shooting numbers. She provided 10 assists, her highest since July 13, 2025, when she played against the Dallas Wings before an injury sidelined her for most of the season.
“No reason to press. Get my teammates involved,” Clark told The Athletic. “Take what the defense gives me. I thought I did a good job of getting to the line, so there’s no need to shoot a lot of shots. I mean, I only played 23 minutes but got to the line nine times. … I think that’s what I can do better – really trying to get to the line and get free points.”
Indiana’s win, 89-78, was also buoyed by Kelsey Mitchell, who scored 17 points in 28 minutes, and Sophie Cunningham, who added 17 points and three rebounds from the bench. The Fever managed to secure victory even without Aliyah Boston, who missed the game due to a lower-leg injury.
Indiana Fever will next face the Portland Fire at home on Tuesday night.
