Many people find solace in knitting, crocheting, and other crafting activities. These hobbies offer more than simple relaxation. Experts assert that there are cognitive benefits as well.
Kerstin Amezcua began crocheting after finishing her service as a doctor in the Army, stationed in Kuwait. Upon returning to the United States five years ago, Amezcua, now 35, needed new ways to cope.
“I was not in a good place coming back,” Amezcua shared. “All of my previous coping mechanisms just stopped functioning.”
