Wildlife Influencer Wrestles Reticulated Python

Wildlife influencer Mike Holston, known as The Real Tarzann on social media, took on a 19-foot reticulated python using his blue belt jiu-jitsu skills. He quickly found himself in a tough situation when the snake wrapped around his arm and legs. Addressing the camera, Holston remarked, “I’m okay. For now. But I won’t be in a second.”

During the encounter, the python attempted to strike a few times. Holston managed to grab its head, describing the struggle as his “toughest battle with a snake yet.” The reticulated python, a nonvenomous constrictor native to South and Southeast Asia, proved to be a formidable opponent.

Holston admitted, “I’m losing this battle, guys. For the first time, I’ve met one that I can’t beat.” Despite his predicament, he maintained head control. He told onlookers, “In a sec, I’m gonna flip him over. I still got head control, but my legs and arm… watch. Ready?”

Eventually, Holston managed to flip the snake and free himself, acknowledging that his blue belt was no match for the python’s “black belt in the jungle.” He expressed relief after escaping, noting it was the closest he’s come to being fully wrapped by a snake.

This daring encounter raises questions about precautions and backup plans in such situations. Was the cameraman prepared to intervene? Were others present to assist if necessary? Although it made for a cool social media video, the dangers were evident.

Mike Holston, beyond his wildlife adventures, attended the global premiere of the film “Bumblebee” in 2018, as well as the Fanatics Flag Football Classic in 2026.
