Chris Briones, a fan of quick dining options, expressed his enthusiasm for the Food Truck Festival held Friday night in downtown Aurora. I love food truck festivals. If they have them, I’m here, every time,
Briones, an Aurora resident, shared while standing on the Benton Street Bridge during the event. If they have one of these, we just go. It’s a nice Friday and you just come by and see what they’ve got,
he added.
This occasion marked Aurora’s second and final Food Truck Festival of the year. With over 30 vendors, attendees experienced a wide array of culinary delights amidst music and entertainment.
Christina DiCristofano, the special events coordinator for Aurora, noted that nearly half of the vendors were new compared to the spring festival.
Rick Clement, a newcomer to Aurora, attended the festival for the first time. It’s a nice place to hang out because they like to be outside when it’s still nice out and the downtown is nice with the river,
Clement said. This is my first time as we just moved here from Michigan last year,
he explained, captivated by the numerous food trucks.
Alani Wilson, another Aurora resident, appreciated the variety of food options available. This is the first time I’ve been to one of these with just food trucks,
Wilson said. There are a lot of decent options. To me, this is appealing because of the variety of things you can’t find elsewhere and it’s all in the same place and there’s the community. You get to see people come out and it’s downtown Aurora and people are coming together.
Among the vendors was Aurora’s own A-Town Lemonade. Co-owner Keyyonna Presley highlighted this as their first year in business. People come to these fests because of the variety and this is also the last event of the year like this,
Presley mentioned. She and her husband, who has long made lemonade, teamed up to create their business.
Luis Andrade, another attendee, said he last attended a food truck festival about two years ago. I think people like these things to try different foods,
Andrade remarked. He specifically came to see the Ricobene Food Truck after spotting an announcement on Facebook. When I saw that I said, I’ve got to go,
he stated.
The festival offered a vibrant atmosphere, drawing residents and newcomers alike to enjoy the diverse food and lively community setting.
