Riot Fest has postponed the start of its third day, scheduled for Sunday, due to weather conditions. The opening is currently delayed until 2 p.m. The decision was announced via social media, stating, “Due to the overnight rains and to remediate the moistness of the park grounds, we are anticipating gates opening at 2 PM.”
The festival organizers have also mentioned that the day’s schedule remains unaltered as of now. This development follows an early closure on Saturday. Announced mid-afternoon, the closure resulted in several performances being cut short or abbreviated, with the band Tool headlining at 6 p.m. before the festival ended at 7 p.m.
The National Weather Service forecasts rain to persist in Chicago until at least 2 p.m., with the possibility of precipitation lasting until 7 p.m.
Riot Fest started with a calm Day 1. Notable exceptions included performances by punk icon Iggy Pop. The event had to close early on Saturday because of weather issues.
