Suspect in Minneapolis Shooting Faced Eviction for Threats

The reported suspect in a downtown Minneapolis shooting was undergoing eviction. This was due to alleged threats to other residents with a firearm.

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in three fatalities, including the suspect. Five others were injured, comprising three Minneapolis police officers.

Authorities have not disclosed the suspect’s identity. However, local station KTSP reported that witnesses named the man as Carlton Johnson II. Fox 9 also reported Johnson as the suspect, referencing anonymous sources.

Documentation obtained by KTSP indicates that Johnson was being evicted from a ninth-floor apartment. A hearing was set for September 11.
