President Donald Trump recently addressed public concerns about data centers, emphasizing the importance of these facilities at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. At this event, he also awarded the Congressional Space Medal of Honor to members of the Artemis II crew.
In his remarks, Trump criticized voters who are against server farms, cautioning that their opposition could jeopardize a significant source of prosperity. He described the actions of those opposing as risking the ‘golden goose’ associated with the artificial intelligence industry.
As public sentiment shifts, polls indicate a growing number of Americans from both political parties now oppose data centers. This trend has led some Republican candidates to distance themselves from Trump’s support for these facilities, responding to mounting public resistance.
