Kellan Lutz, known for his role in “Twilight,” recently shared why he and his family moved from California to Tennessee three years ago. Speaking on “Inside of You” with Michael Rosenbaum, Lutz explained the decision, highlighting the events that led to the move after the birth of their second child.
Lutz voiced his appreciation for California, mentioning that the move was motivated by family needs and post-pandemic circumstances. His wife, Brittany, originally from Orange County, hoped to stay connected to her roots, considering a “bi-coastal” lifestyle in the future.
Post-COVID, many families, including Lutz’s, sought a more peaceful environment. The pandemic led to job losses and departures from California. Brittany’s family relocated first, prompting the Lutz family to follow suit. This move was crucial as Lutz travels for work, leaving Brittany with their children.
The family settled in Tennessee, finding community through land, churches, and Bible study groups. Lutz noted the support system in Franklin, Tennessee, and the positive experience despite initial uncertainties.
Lutz acknowledged an adjustment phase, citing changes like experiencing tornadoes and missing specific foods like sushi and Mexican cuisine. Nonetheless, he appreciated the local community’s warmth and the unexpected frequency of movie premieres in their new home.
Despite ongoing considerations about their long-term plans, the move has been beneficial for the Lutz family, offering support and community that were imperative after their geographical shift.
