A mountain lion was spotted lounging on a sidewalk under a tree’s shade in San Dimas, causing a street closure as wildlife officials headed to capture the animal. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s San Dimas Station shared on Instagram around 8 a.m. that a mountain lion was seen on Foothill Boulevard between San Dimas Avenue and San Dimas Canyon Road.
The Sheriff’s department advised residents to avoid the area and to keep pets and outdoor food secured, warning that these could attract the mountain lion. They also called for runners, pedestrians, and residents to stay alert.
Cort Klopping, public information officer at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, confirmed the agency had received the report and was responding to the scene.
