In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that the U.S. was prepared for action against Iran but agreed to postpone the attack in favor of rapidly making a deal. He noted that Israel was involved in this commitment.
The proposed agreement would entail the complete opening of the Hormuz Strait and a resolution to Iran’s nuclear activities, which Iran maintains are peaceful. Iran has not commented on the claim. The Mehr news agency, associated with the Iranian government, has dismissed Trump’s statements as ‘another lie,’ citing unidentified Iranian military sources.
This development follows a pattern of sudden changes in strategy since the U.S. and Israel engaged in conflict with Iran in February. A recent AP poll indicates that almost two-thirds of Americans believe the conflict is not justified.
