Samsung’s 2026 Mobile and Wearable Lineup Unveiled

Samsung has unveiled its 2026 lineup for mobile devices and wearables, signaling fashion as a key theme for the future. In London’s Galaxy Unpacked event held on Monday, July 20th, Samsung introduced three sleek, hinge-based phones, two new smartwatches, and two innovative pairs of smart glasses. The company describes this lineup as ‘its most complete yet,’ designed to bring foldable phones to a wider audience by building on seven generations of innovation and consumer insights. The Galaxy Z series now offers three distinct experiences tailored to different user needs.

Galaxy Z Series Phones

The new phone collection includes the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8. The Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra open sideways for larger landscape screens, whereas the Flip8 opens vertically for an enhanced portrait view. This year’s focus is on devices that are ‘thinner, brighter, and more durable.’

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra

Among the new devices, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra stands out due to its slimmer profile and robust feel. It uses new Flex Titanium material, providing a flatter and more uniform surface that can endure repeated folding. The device features a 200 MP main camera and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Although these specs are similar to last year’s model, enhancements in Nightography7 and 8K editing capabilities highlight its strength.

Galaxy Z Flip8

The Galaxy Z Flip8 benefits from improvements over the previous Flip7 model. It’s lighter and thinner, with a redesigned FlexWindow Home that expands the app tray. This allows users to book taxis, browse reminders, and access their health hub without opening the phone, presenting a major advantage.

Galaxy Smartwatches

Galaxy Watch Ultra2

The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 has significantly upgraded features, including a 35% better battery than its predecessor for lasting performance. Samsung claims it to be the brightest smartwatch available, featuring a larger display and 12% thinner casing. Samsung’s press release highlights the watch as part of a ‘new era of effortless health,’ offering personalized health insights through AI. Features include hydration monitoring for runners and detailed data for divers.

Priced at $699.99, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 targets professional athletes looking for advanced health metrics.

Galaxy Watch9

The Galaxy Watch9 caters to health-conscious individuals who prefer a more accessible option. It includes the Heart Health Score for tracking health indicators like BMI and sleep time. The fitness index measures body composition, flexibility, and cardio health, providing users with a unified score to compare with others.

Samsung Eyewear

Samsung’s collaboration with eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker has resulted in stylish smart glasses. These integrate intelligent AI to provide personalized assistance in everyday activities. Although formal testing wasn’t available, these glasses are among the most stylish options for smart eyewear.

Availability

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8 will begin pre-orders in select markets on July 22, 2026, with a release anticipated in early August. The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 will also be available for pre-order starting July 22, 2026, with general availability from August 7, 2026.
