Controversy recently emerged after Rachel Griffin Accurso, known as “Ms. Rachel” on YouTube, faced criticism. A federal filing revealed her $3,000 contribution to El-Sayed’s campaign. The donation became a national talking point, particularly due to the candidate’s stance on Israel.
Samantha Cantrell from the National Republican Senatorial Committee cautioned parents, linking El-Sayed and Accurso as promoting a socialist agenda.

El-Sayed has called for an arms embargo against Israel and labeled the country a “rogue state,” attributing genocide in Gaza. This stance has led some Jewish Michigan Democrats to consider voting Republican if El-Sayed secures the nomination.
He held rallies with Hasan Piker, which sparked further backlash. El-Sayed clarified that campaigning with Piker does not indicate endorsement of all past statements.

The pro-Israel lobby group AIPAC has invested heavily in support of Stevens. Both El-Sayed and Accurso were contacted for comment but did not respond immediately.
