Turning Point USA Spokesperson Warns Against ‘Looksmaxxing’ Trend

Andrew Kolvet, a spokesperson for Turning Point USA, highlighted concerns over the viral trend known as ‘looksmaxxing.’ He described it as a cautionary signal, indicating a lack of mentorship for young men seeking direction.

Kolvet expressed this viewpoint on ‘The Will Cain Show,’ stating, ‘Young men are searching for mentors. They are looking for voices that can help make sense of the chaos and guide them through a challenging social environment. They need support, and Clavicular’s approach highlights this need.’

The comments arose during a discussion about Clavicular, an influencer gaining attention for promoting looksmaxxing. This online trend emphasizes enhancing physical appearance, using methods like fitness, grooming, and facial aesthetics.

One controversial method endorsed by Clavicular involves ‘bone smashing,’ where he used a hammer to create microfractures in his jaw to encourage regrowth. He cautioned against trying this without medical advice.

Kolvet acknowledged Clavicular’s charisma and entertainment value but recommended focusing on other virtues. ‘We should encourage young people to engage in ‘charactermaxxing’ instead of looksmaxxing,’ he advised.

Health professionals have criticized the ‘bone smashing’ practice due to potential injury risks, as noted in Clavicular’s appearance on the ‘Hang Out with Sean Hannity’ podcast.

Clavicular defended the trend, claiming that improving physical appearance benefits daily interactions. ‘Looksmaxxing is a comprehensive approach to self-improvement,’ he said, advocating for prioritizing appearances.

Kolvet, however, underscored the importance of mentorship, urging older individuals to guide young men. He emphasized that mentorship is crucial in helping them navigate social complexities.

‘Please, actively seek out young men to mentor. It can be a pivotal moment in transforming their lives,’ Kolvet concluded.
