Darline Graham Takes Oath as Interim South Carolina Senator

Darline Graham Nordone has assumed the role of interim U.S. senator for South Carolina following the unexpected passing of her brother, Lindsey Graham. Her swearing-in was covered by Chad Pergram, Fox News chief congressional correspondent, on America Reports. Graham’s appointment marks her as South Carolina’s first female senator and the first sibling of a senator to be appointed to the U.S. Senate.

Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity will feature Sen. Darline Graham in an exclusive interview on Hannity at 9 PM ET. This marks her first media appearance since her brother’s death and her appointment. During the interview, she is expected to discuss her brother’s legacy and her commitment to public service. She will also talk about their family values and her plans as a senator for South Carolina.

Darline Graham was appointed by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster to complete her brother’s term. Former President Donald Trump recommended her for the position, and Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina endorsed her candidacy. Gov. McMaster remarked, “Lindsey took care of his little sister in years long departed. It’s my honor to ask his little sister, Darline Graham, to finish his work for him now.”

Lindsey Graham died at the age of 71 in Washington, D.C. on July 11, shortly after returning from a meeting in Kyiv with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss new sanctions against Russia. Preliminary findings from the D.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner identified his cause of death as an aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, with further testing ongoing.

Hannity’s past interviewees include prominent figures such as Elon Musk, Benjamin Netanyahu, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Gavin Newsom, George W. Bush, among others.
