Senator Mitch McConnell shared a photo from a rehabilitation center to show he is alive and doing well after weeks of silence. On Monday’s ‘The Daily Show,’ host Jon Stewart commented on the image of McConnell sitting with his wife, describing it as ‘totally believable evidence that Mitch McConnell is not only alive, but the happiest boy in the hospital.’

Ike Barinholtz, guest hosting ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ remarked, “First of all, thank God he’s still hot as hell.” Jimmy Fallon added, “Yeah, nothing says perfect health like having someone hold you up when you’re already sitting. Looks like a husband-and-wife ventriloquist act.”
Ike Barinholtz also extended well wishes saying, “I hope you get the quality health care you’ve fought so hard to deny everyone else.”
The Punchiest Punchlines (Stages of Grief Edition)
Jon Stewart and other hosts addressed the recent events involving senators Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell. Stewart questioned, “Now, a lot of you may be wondering, how did Lindsey Graham die before Mitch McConnell?” Ike Barinholtz said, “What a crazy weekend. Mitch McConnell is alive, Lindsey Graham is dead. There’s so many opportunities to get Jimmy’s show pulled off the air again.”
Seth Meyers shared a satirical tribute from President Trump, noting that Trump said the late Senator Lindsey Graham would often call him. “Very rare for the person giving the eulogy to say, ‘I wish I’d talked to him less.’”
Jon Stewart imitated Trump, joking, “I’ll never forget the way that I always let him go to voicemail. It was our thing.”
Stewart further commented, “Well, I think the president has zoomed through the first five stages of grief and gone straight to number six: ‘[expletive] that guy.’” Ike Barinholtz humorously outlined various stages of grief, emphasizing individual ways of grieving.
