The Hardy brothers have long been associated with thrilling ladder matches, often using them to clinch tag team championships. At Slammiversary, Jeff and Matt Hardy leveraged this strategy once more.
Ladder matches are notorious for high-risk moments. When Jeff Hardy ascends a ladder, fans brace for excitement and peril. On Sunday night, Jeff showcased his signature daredevil style in a four-way ladder match against Bear Bronson, Brian Myers, Jason Hotch, John Skyler, Vincent, and Dutch.
During the match, Matt Hardy strategically positioned Hotch and Skyler between a ladder placed against the barricade and the ring apron. Jeff, known for his fearless approach, utilized a ladder brought by Vincent and Dutch. From the top, he executed a dramatic Swanton Bomb.
Following this, the Hardy brothers proceeded to the ladder at the center of the ring. They successfully retrieved the TNA World Tag Team Championship belts, securing victory.
This triumph marks the Hardys’ fifth tag team championship reign in TNA, equaling the records held by Beer Money Inc and The Wolves. It’s their second championship in the past year. Previously, they captured the title at last year’s Slammiversary, maintaining it for 265 days before losing to Myers and Bronson at Rebellion. The Hardys have reclaimed their place at the top.
Bronson and Myers held the championship for 78 days before the Hardys’ recent victory.
Jeff Hardy remains a celebrated figure in professional wrestling, consistently drawing excitement with his athletic prowess.
