In Milan, Lewis Hamilton shared the front row with Colman Domingo at Ralph Lauren’s Fashion Week presentation. They discussed a menswear collection that varied from banker pinstripes to layered festival attire.
The fashion brand hosted its menswear show at its elegant Milan venue. The event attracted celebrities like Henry Golding, Tom Hiddleston, and Scott Eastwood. Fans gathered outside despite a heatwave, hoping to see stars arriving. Thai actor Nichakoon Khajornborirak and Korean actor Kim Woo-bin waved to the crowd, delighting their fans.
Domingo had a minor slip while retrieving his hand fan from his car. He remarked, “I wasn’t going to leave that fan in the car. My heel slid, but I was safe. Getting the fan was the priority.”
The day featured a hot, humid early summer environment. The fashion show transitioned from Ralph Lauren’s luxury Purple line suits to more casual pieces. Tuxedo shirts and bow ties paired with patchwork denim coats adorned some models, while others wore berets, aviator glasses, and pocket watch chains.
Domingo commented, “Today’s collection felt inspired by the 1920s. It mixed old and new styles.” The Polo collection included colorful madras plaids with knitwear layers, rugby shirts, and light jackets. It suited a mountain festival or night beach party better than Milan’s heat. Some pieces echoed the “Preppy Handbook,” combining pink and green colors.
Ralph Lauren’s clothing represented a versatile mix, from Brooklyn to East Hampton. Domingo appreciated the blend, saying, “From day to night, from the street to the Hamptons, you fit right in.”
The collection’s formal and casual looks blended over time. The runway featured a diverse cast, spanning different ages and races. Accessories like silk scarves and ties transitioned across styles. Upcycling trends emerged with ties fashioned into belts and bags. Footwear included options like leather sandals and velvet slippers.
Eastwood expressed interest in a snakeskin bag, noting, “Ralph Lauren’s brand is timeless.” Golding highlighted the Purple label, stating, “It’s my go-to for anything refined.”
