The World Cup returns to the United States for the first time in over three decades, starting on June 11, 2026. The U.S. Men’s National Team will join Canada and Mexico as hosts for this global event.
The U.S. team last competed at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after missing the 2018 event in Russia. Their first match of the tournament will occur on the second day. In Group D, the U.S. team will play at least three group-stage games:
- June 12: The U.S. faces Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, at 9 p.m. ET.
- June 17: The U.S. takes on Australia at Seattle’s Lumen Field at 3 p.m. ET.
- June 25: The U.S. plays against Turkey at SoFi Stadium at 10 p.m. ET.
The knockout stage will start on June 28. The top two teams from each group, along with the eight best third-place teams, will move on to the round of 32. Depending on their group stage results, the U.S. could play as follows:
- If the U.S. wins Group D, it will play on July 1 at 8 p.m. ET at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
- If the U.S. finishes as Group D runner-up, it will compete on July 3 at 2 p.m. ET at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.
The round of 16 will occur from July 4 to July 7, with the quarterfinals taking place on July 9 and 10. The semifinals are scheduled for July 14, and the World Cup final will be held on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
