Stephen A. Smith Criticizes Jill Biden’s Debate Comments

Sports commentator Stephen A. Smith criticized former First Lady Jill Biden on a recent episode of his podcast. He argued that her public statements are damaging the Democratic Party’s image.

On his “Straight Shooter” podcast, Smith discussed her promotion of her memoir, “View From the East Wing.” He pointed out that although Jill Biden initially painted a positive picture of then-President Joe Biden’s health during the 2024 debates, she later revealed concerns in her book. During a debate with Donald Trump, she feared Joe Biden might be having a stroke.

“Commentators said he looked like an elderly patient in a nursing home,” Smith remarked. “Yet, she publicly claimed he was wonderful and answered all questions. Now she admits she thought he had suffered a stroke.”

Smith argued that such admissions, coming before the November midterms, could harm the Democratic Party. He pointed out the poor timing of her revelations, saying, “With races approaching, you’re admitting deception on behalf of the Democratic Party, which doesn’t help win elections.”

He noted that these narratives are emboldening Republicans to contest even traditionally Democratic strongholds like California.

“This nonsense needs to be eradicated,” Smith stressed, emphasizing that his comments were aimed at helping the Democrats succeed. “I’m pro-Democrat. I’m showing how not to lose and avoid deceitful appearances.”

Jill Biden, in her memoir, acknowledged that Joe Biden’s debate performance was problematic. Initially, she supported him publicly, claiming he did well, but later admitted they both knew he struggled.

Fox News Digital reached out to Biden’s office for a response but did not receive an immediate reply.
