In a suburb of Chicago, police issued a shelter-in-place order on Thursday as authorities conducted a manhunt following a shooting report in Lansing, Illinois. According to reports from FOX 32 Chicago, Lansing police advised residents near the 2700 block of 170th Street to remain indoors while they searched for a suspect.
The suspect is described by authorities as a Black male, around 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds. At the time he was last observed, he wore a black do-rag, black hoodie, and a white surgical mask, seen moving south from 170th Street.

An industrial building in Lansing, Illinois, appeared in a street view image, showing a parking lot filled with numerous parked vehicles. Reports based on dispatch audio reviewed by Fox News Digital suggested an active shooter situation at a chemical plant opposite the Lansing Police Department located on 170th Street.
In the audio, a voice mentions that authorities had deployed a helicopter and were attempting to locate a K9 unit. Additionally, the voice mentioned, “The offender shot every foreign subject in the business.” However, Lansing police have yet to confirm these details publicly, including whether there were any injuries.
