The event, known as the World AI Conference, took place in Shanghai and featured notable attendees such as U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, and Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
Xi Jinping laid out a global vision for AI, advocating for “equitable” access to this strategically vital technology. He stressed the importance of finding a balance between innovation and security, highlighting the ongoing competition between China and the United States in the field.
