Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin discussed current border enforcement updates while critiquing the Biden administration’s border policies. He emphasized DHS and ICE’s commitment to targeting high-risk individuals to ensure community safety.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed charges against 16 people across multiple states for alleged illegal voting, voter registration, and election-related crimes. Noncitizens accused of casting ballots in federal elections were identified.
After the announcement, DOJ issued a warning on social media regarding individuals charged with allegedly voting in the 2022 and 2024 elections. They cautioned against attempts to illegally participate in U.S. elections, stating, “Let this be a warning to anyone trying to cheat and undermine our elections.”
Charged Individuals
In Texas, charges were filed against eight noncitizens, while other cases involved defendants in Idaho, Georgia, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Michigan. Allegations included noncitizens voting in federal elections, false citizenship claims, and false statements related to naturalization.
Investigation efforts also uncovered alleged passport and identification fraud, wire fraud, and firearm-related offenses. These cases are part of a broader enforcement initiative targeting alleged illegal voting and election-related crimes by the Trump administration.

In Georgia, Venezuelan national Analiea Milliscent Eccles was charged with voting nine times between 2008 and 2024 as a noncitizen. Mexican national Avila Gomez allegedly falsely claimed U.S. citizenship to register and vote in Idaho.
New Jersey resident Santana Coulibaly registered to vote in 2016, participating in federal elections in 2018 and 2020. She submitted a provisional ballot in the 2024 election, facing allegations tied to her naturalization applications.

Further Developments
Nigerian national Gladys Adaeze Okafor, a lawful permanent resident, faced charges for illegal voting in 2022 and 2024 elections.
Markwayne Mullin disclosed an ongoing investigation, with more than 1,620 open cases and 151 arrests. Authorities are examining over 300,000 suspected cases, with numbers expected to rise.
Colombian national Julieta Englestad was charged with falsely claiming U.S. citizenship while registering to vote in the November 2022 election. Mullin stressed the impact of illegal voting, stating, “Every single vote that was at the hands of an illegal immigrant canceled out a citizen that was legally registered and able to vote.”
The Justice Department reminded that charges are accusations, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
