USC and Notre Dame announced a renewed four-year series starting in 2030. The games will be held in Week 1 at the Coliseum and Notre Dame Stadium in alternating years. The 2032 and 2033 matchups will occur in Weeks 1-3.
USC coach Lincoln Riley expressed satisfaction with the scheduling arrangement. “Playing this game early in the season is best for us,” he stated. USC faces constraints with its conference schedule, while Notre Dame has more flexibility as an independent team.
Riley highlighted the challenges of balancing a Big Ten schedule with this rivalry. USC’s historical record against Notre Dame stands at 37-53-5, excluding a vacated 2005 victory. Riley has a 1-3 record in this matchup since joining USC.
Both schools valued the rivalry and sought a mutually beneficial schedule. “This benefits everyone,” Riley noted. He emphasized its importance to fans, alumni, and college football.
