Sara Carter vividly remembers when the key elements of the Trump-Russia collusion story began to unfold. During an exclusive ‘Hang Out with Sean Hannity’ episode, she expressed disbelief at the revelations. At the time, Carter collaborated closely with investigative journalist John Solomon. They received information suggesting surveillance of President-elect Donald Trump was occurring.
“I went into John’s office and said, ‘John, I need to talk to you. I think people in the FBI are spying on President-elect Trump — the duly elected president,'” Carter recalled.

Initially skeptical, Solomon asked for more information and checked with his contacts. He was initially unsure, but they decided to investigate further, unwilling to dismiss the potential discovery.
Sometime in 2017, Solomon was approached by unnamed government officials revealing what he now claims is a decade-long conspiracy to harm Trump. He shared this revelation on the same podcast episode in April. “We want to tell you you’re at the tip of a very large iceberg. Keep drilling down,” the officials warned him.
Solomon recounted this incident, noting it happened shortly after his appearance on Hannity’s television program. He had stopped at his home when a government car, with its lights flashing, parked by his mailbox. Initially thinking he might be arrested, he soon discovered the visitors had a significant message.
“They told me, ‘That thing you discussed on TV tonight is much deeper,'” Solomon recalled. “And [the man] said, ‘There is an incredible political dirty trick being used with the intelligence community’s powers.'” The two men urged him to continue his investigation.
Carter referenced this during her talk with Hannity, detailing how, with help from her sources, they uncovered essential details. “I gathered my sources, and together, we uncovered the beginning of one of the most important stories in American history,” she noted.
