Does warmer weather bring about feelings of sadness for you? While it is less common than its winter counterpart, summer seasonal affective disorder (SAD) does affect some individuals.
A recent meta-analysis reviewed 24 studies with more than 32,000 participants. The findings indicated that approximately 0.57 percent of people experience summer SAD. In contrast, around 5 percent of people are affected by winter SAD.
Summer SAD is real, though it’s rarer than the winter version.
