On Sunday, President Donald Trump expressed demands on Truth Social for investigations into what he termed ‘paid protesters’ after a video circulated online revealing a woman’s involvement in several demonstrations.
Trump shared posts from conservative journalist Emily Miller on social media, alleging that the same woman appeared at different protests months apart. These protests were linked to projects supported by Trump: the renovation at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and his proposed triumphal arch near Arlington Memorial Bridge.
The administration completed renovations of the Reflecting Pool earlier in the year. The proposed triumphal arch, reaching 250 feet, is planned to be located between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.
Neither Trump nor Miller provided evidence or identified parties who might have paid the woman to attend the demonstrations.
In a Truth Social post, Trump expressed gratitude to Miller, stating that there were ‘many such people all over’ who ‘attempt to stop or defer Great Developments, Projects, and even Policies.’ He commended Miller for allegedly catching the woman ‘REDHANDED.’
Trump has frequently accused those protesting against his administration policies of being paid demonstrators. During the June 2025 protests in Los Angeles, he described some participants as ‘paid insurrectionists’ and ‘paid troublemakers.’ He has also made claims regarding protests against his administration’s immigration policies, alleging the involvement of professional or paid agitators.
Updates to this developing story are expected as more information becomes available.
