Trespasser Attempts Entry at Kamala Harris’ Malibu Home

A trespasser attempted to enter the Malibu residence of former Vice President Kamala Harris on a recent Friday evening. This was confirmed by both the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and a spokesperson for Harris.

Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, were not present during the incident, according to Harris’ spokesperson, Eduardo Negrón. Negrón did not provide details on their specific location at that time.

Last night, security personnel stopped an individual who illegally entered Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Emhoff’s property before the individual reached the home. They are grateful to the security and law enforcement personnel who responded swiftly.

Harris’ on-site security team promptly contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which is responsible for the Malibu area. Lt. Jason Duron, a watch commander at the Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff’s station, mentioned that the security team reported the incident when a woman approached Harris’ front door. The sheriff’s deputies arrived around 10:30 p.m., and the woman, who remains unidentified, chose to leave voluntarily. She was not detained.

We are stepping up patrols of the property to be safe.

Harris’ security has been a topic of concern in the past. Typically, former vice presidents are granted six months of Secret Service protection after their term. However, after President Biden extended it, President Trump, who defeated Harris in the 2024 election, revoked this extension in August 2025. This decision prompted local and state law enforcement to enhance Harris’ protection.

The Los Angeles Police Department ceased its involvement, citing criticism that reallocating officers was affecting its crime-fighting capabilities. It remains uncertain if the California Highway Patrol continues to be involved in Harris’ security, or whether the personnel who reached out to the Sheriff’s Department were from a private security firm.
