The Toy Story franchise has been a part of many people’s lives for years, so the success of Toy Story 5 at the international box office in June was anticipated. For avid fans, the real excitement begins with the release of bonus features, which are set to unveil soon.
Toy Story 5 will be available digitally on August 18 and on 4K UHD/Blu-ray disc by September 22. Newsweek has offered an exclusive glimpse into one of the extra features. In a deleted scene, shared exclusively with Newsweek, a Buzz Lightyear explores a group of humanoids during a camping trip. This is one of several extras expected in the upcoming release.
The 4K UHD/Blu-ray disc includes features such as a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s production, a featurette on new cast members like Conan O’Brien and Greta Lee, and a gag reel. Those opting for the digital version will also enjoy Taylor Swift’s music video for “I Knew It, I Knew You.” The release of the limited edition 4K SteelBook on September 22 adds a collectible option for fans, presenting a visually appealing package.
This release coincides with the approach of awards season. Toy Story 5 is predicted to be a contender in several categories, such as Best Original Song for Swift and possibly Best Picture. This overlap allows fans ample opportunities to revisit the film, while recognizing Pixar’s long-standing ability to evoke emotions from viewers of all ages.
