Her public appearance followed years of living a reserved life in the United Kingdom, which she chose after her long-term partner’s passing.
Channing revisited her role as Aunt Franny in the much-anticipated sequel, appearing in a stylish blue suit complete with a white button-down shirt and chain-link jewelry. The following day, she impressed photographers with a striking emerald green outfit during a photo call in London. The sequel to “Practical Magic” also reunites other stars like Nicole Kidman, Sandra Bullock, and Dianne Wiest, marking their return 28 years after the original film’s debut.
Having moved to London “just before COVID,” Channing settled there after the 2014 death of her partner, Daniel Gillham. In an essay for The Sunday Times, she expressed contentment with her reclusive lifestyle, stating, “I’ve lived alone since I lost Daniel and I’m happy being a recluse.” She reflected on her past marriages, emphasizing their significance in her life journey.
Channing disclosed that Gillham’s death impacted her more profoundly than anticipated, prompting shifts in her life that aligned with her decision to move from Maine. This move also coincided with the period surrounding Trump’s second bid for the presidency.
The actress, known for “Six Degrees of Separation,” described her current daily routine. Her mornings begin at 7 a.m. with her dog, followed by some exercise at 10 a.m., albeit with a preference for skipping it occasionally. She shared, “I know exercising is the right thing to do, but my brain tells me to go hide behind the bike sheds.” Her first meal of the day is often lunch, and she admits to improvising in the kitchen.
When venturing out, she maintains a minimal approach to wardrobe choices, humorously noting that her clothing is largely from past decades. Channing expressed a relaxed attitude towards appearance, stating, “Do I care how I look? Most actors do although part of your job is not being self-conscious.” She candidly added, “But I’ve never considered myself as beautiful. And I’m not a celebrity ‘tart.’ I’m just me, take it or leave it.”
