A Senate investigation has been launched into the gaming platform Roblox due to concerns about explicit content and its alleged links to child abuse incidents. Senators Josh Hawley and Dick Durbin have expressed these concerns in a letter to Roblox CEO David Baszucki.
The senators highlighted the company’s claim of providing a safe environment for children. However, they questioned the platform’s effectiveness in ensuring child safety, citing reports of predators using Roblox to exploit minors through grooming, kidnapping, and exposing them to explicit material.

States have sued Roblox, alleging insufficient oversight that jeopardizes children’s safety. The senators accused Roblox of prioritizing profit over safety and have requested the company to preserve records and submit numerous documents for the investigation.
Matt Kaufman, Roblox’s chief safety officer, stated, The platform is built on the foundation of safety. We do not compromise on that commitment. We look forward to sharing the facts about how we work to protect children on the platform.
Kaufman also mentioned recent enhancements in protection measures, including age verification improvements using new technologies.
