The Senate Leadership Fund (SLF), a leading campaign group aligned with Thune, reported raising over $500 million ahead of the 2026 Senate elections, marking a record fundraising effort. Despite historical challenges for the party in power during midterms, Republicans have amassed substantial resources to challenge Democrats in both the House and Senate.

An ad specific to Iowa highlighted Josh Turek’s missed voting record in the state legislature while campaigning for the Senate.
The ad critiques Turek for missing 58% of legislative votes that included proposals to aid veterans and fund schools, while he continued to collect his full taxpayer-funded salary.
