Selma Blair’s Recent Airline Incident and Investigation

Selma Blair was arrested following an incident on a Delta Air Lines flight over the weekend. The actress was on a flight from Los Angeles to John F. Kennedy International Airport when she reportedly attempted to open the plane door mid-flight. This led to a confrontation with flight attendants, culminating in her allegedly punching one and biting another, as reported by TMZ.

According to dispatch audio obtained by the outlet, airline staff requested medical teams be ready upon landing to treat the injuries, which included bite marks and a bloody nose. A passenger reportedly hit her head on a physical partition within the plane.

One of the flight attendants required hospitalization, as confirmed by the New York Port Authority. Delta Air Lines emphasized its zero tolerance policy for unruly behavior, prioritizing customer and crew safety in the statement released.

Selma Blair was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for medical assessment. The FBI is currently investigating the situation.

A representative for Blair stated, “Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged behavior. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is now in stable condition.” Blair, diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018, has spoken publicly about the various symptoms, including mobility and memory issues, associated with the disease.

In 2021, Blair shared that she had entered remission. In an update provided to TODAY in April 2026, she mentioned feeling well and free from relapse.

This is not Blair’s first incident during air travel. In 2016, she was removed from a flight after experiencing a “psychotic blackout” due to mixing alcohol with medications. She later described the situation as “a big mistake.”
