Sarti Rosa: The New Summer Sensation in the U.S.

Sarti Rosa: The New Summer Sensation in the U.S.

Sarti Rosa, a new spirit from Italy, is creating a buzz with its debut in the United States. Previously available only in Europe, this unique aperitif has quickly become a social media sensation. Developed by Casa Luigi Sarti & Figli, a historic distillery in Bologna since 1885, Sarti Rosa offers a blend of blood orange, mango, and passion fruit flavors.

The drink is making waves among popular summer cocktails. Experts believe the Sarti spritz could compete with famed options like the Aperol and Hugo spritz. Social media users are enthusiastic about Sarti Rosa, highlighting its vibrant pink color and sweet, fruity taste.

Instagram influencers have taken note, with one sharing a post from Florence, Italy, expressing excitement for the new drink. Another social media creator shared their delight upon finding Sarti Rosa in a Boston liquor store.

On the official Sarti Instagram page, American fans have been requesting that Sarti expand its presence in their cities. The company responded with a video promising to bring the product to more locations across the U.S. Currently, Sarti Rosa is available in select areas, with a bottle priced at approximately $29.99 in New York City.

Derek Brown, co-founder of the Washington, D.C.-based hospitality group Drink Company, noted that while Sarti Rosa has gained popularity on social media, it has not yet reached widespread bar availability. Brown pointed out that social media can create a buzz, but bartenders need to learn about Sarti, and bars must stock it for it to become mainstream. He sees potential for Sarti to gain momentum once it becomes more widely known and available.

Sarti’s appeal is attributed to its pink color, ‘spritz-factor,’ and limited availability, giving it a special status among drinkers. Brown highlighted that pink drinks often taste sweeter and evoke pleasure. Additionally, Sarti’s low alcohol content of 14% makes it an attractive option for consumers.

Sarti Rosa has already inspired variations in some restaurants. Marisela Camacho, manager and beverage director at The Farm Italy in New York, reported success with their “Saint Sarti Spritz,” a mix of St-Germain, Sarti, lemon sorbet, mint, and prosecco. This variation has been a popular choice, with high demand even before customers arrive at the restaurant.

Camacho observed that customers often make reservations specifically requesting Sarti spritzes, and the colorful appearance of the drink catches everyone’s attention. She also predicts that the Sarti trend won’t fade with the summer, as seasonal adaptations for fall and winter are anticipated.

As Sarti Rosa continues to conquer the U.S. market, fans and industry experts alike will be watching to see if it can claim the title of the ultimate summer beverage choice.
