Sarah Shahi Discusses Memorable Scene with James Gandolfini

Actress Sarah Shahi recently shared her experiences filming a notable scene with “Sopranos” star James Gandolfini. During an appearance on the “Bossticks” podcast, Shahi described the kiss with Gandolfini as one of the most memorable of her career.

“We had this scene where he was incredibly attractive,” Shahi recalled, admitting initial doubts about working with a much older actor. However, her expectations were quickly surpassed.

“Oh boy, did it work for me!” the actress exclaimed.

Shahi briefly appeared in the iconic series “The Sopranos” and recounted a specific scene where the characters consumed mushrooms before sharing an intense kiss. According to Shahi, Gandolfini’s dedication to method acting involved using real dehydrated mushrooms in the scene.

Shahi continued, “We had to film the scene multiple times, and every time the director called cut, we were still kissing.” Gandolfini’s commitment to his craft left a lasting impression on Shahi.

Shahi portrayed Sonya Aragon, a character appearing as a stripper and college student involved with Christopher Moltisanti, played by Michael Imperioli, during the show’s sixth season in 2007.

James Gandolfini, who passed away unexpectedly in 2013 in Rome, Italy, at the age of 51 due to a heart attack, left behind a legacy of memorable performances.

Shahi’s revelations provide insights into the behind-the-scenes dynamics of “The Sopranos,” a series celebrated for its blend of drama and realism.
