Russian Strikes Intensify Across Ukraine

Russian strikes across Ukraine have led to significant casualties and destruction. At least eight people died and dozens were injured in attacks spanning the eastern Dnipropetrovsk and western Lviv regions. These incidents are part of a surge in Russian military activity, with recent strikes becoming almost a weekly occurrence.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported overnight attacks on multiple regions, including Kyiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Ivano-Frankivsk. These assaults resulted in the destruction or damage of homes, businesses, and infrastructure. According to Zelenskyy, Russia launched over 70 missiles, primarily ballistic, along with more than 280 attack drones. Ukrainian forces intercepted more than 260 of these drones.

Given the critical shortage of air defense missiles from our partners, our warriors are accomplishing truly incredible things, demonstrating a very high level of professionalism.

Zelenskyy emphasized the need for more anti-ballistic missiles from allies to protect lives against Russian missile threats.

In response to the attacks, Poland scrambled fighter jets. During this heightened alert, Polish authorities discovered a crater and debris after losing radar contact with an unidentified object in Polish airspace.

In Dnipropetrovsk, a mass attack killed six people, including a 6-year-old girl and boys aged 11 and 17, according to Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the regional military administration. The attack also left ten wounded. Zelenskyy noted that these casualties occurred in a residential home destroyed by a ballistic missile.

The Poltava region experienced a drone attack on private enterprise warehouses, resulting in one death. A delivery hub in the same attack caught fire but was quickly extinguished without further injuries.

Lviv saw an increase in injuries from missile attacks, with 30 people affected as rescue operations continued. The strikes impacted more than 20 residential buildings, a school, and kindergartens, injuring children, including one child hospitalized.

Kyiv was hit by ballistic missiles leading to the death of a 31-year-old man and injuries to two others. This assault damaged residential buildings, a market, and storage facilities.

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the attacks as part of a broader operation targeting air bases, arms factories, and military communications in several regions. In Moscow, they also reported hitting ships in Odesa.

Additionally, Russian air defenses downed 258 Ukrainian drones overnight. In Penza, a Wildberries retail depot caught fire due to drone attacks, leading to injuries and evacuation of workers. These incidents are part of a series of strikes on Ukraine’s largest online retailer.
