A retired math professor from Fair Oaks, Virginia, has been charged with second-degree murder after allegedly killing his wife, who was an airline meteorologist. The tragic incident unfolded when police responded to a 911 call from 60-year-old Chisen Jameson, who had reported gunshots before being fatally wounded. According to FOX 5, gunfire was audible during the call.
The accused, 64-year-old Leland Jameson, previously taught at George Mason University and holds a Ph.D. from Brown University. He faces charges of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Leland Jameson also made a 911 call, citing a domestic dispute with his wife and expressing uncertainty regarding her injuries. Law enforcement officials discovered multiple firearms inside the residence.
Chisen Jameson worked as a meteorologist for Japan’s All Nippon Airways at Dulles Airport. The airline expressed deep sorrow over her passing, recognizing her as a valued team member whose loss has profoundly impacted her colleagues.
The couple leaves behind two sons, who also reside in Northern Virginia. The case continues to unfold as investigations are underway.
