President Trump Accuses The New York Times of Treason in Latest Legal Battle

President Donald Trump labeled The New York Times’ coverage of the conflict with Iran as “treasonous.” He announced plans to include this report in his ongoing lawsuit against the newspaper. Trump shared his sentiments on Truth Social, criticizing the Times for using “FAKE & MADE UP ‘FACTS'” in their reports on Iran’s situation.

“I will be adding all of their false and ridiculous reporting to my multi Billion Dollar lawsuit against them. They are Criminals!” he stated. Trump has had frequent disputes with media outlets since his return to office. He initially filed a $15 billion defamation lawsuit against the Times in September of last year. However, a judge dismissed it, calling the complaint “tedious and burdensome” and irrelevant to the legal case.

In October, Trump submitted a revised 40-page complaint to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. This complaint names the New York Times, publisher Penguin Random House, investigative reporters Suzanne Craig and Russ Buettner, and the Times’ chief White House correspondent, Peter Baker, as defendants.

Trump’s recent criticism follows a Times analysis suggesting that months of conflict with Iran brought minimal strategic change. Trump countered, asserting that Iran’s military and economy have suffered severe setbacks. The Times previously dismissed Trump’s lawsuit as baseless, highlighting its effort to suppress independent journalism.

In another post on Sunday, Trump targeted a Times article titled ‘What Changed After Almost 4 Months of War? Analysts Say Not Much.’ He contended that drastic changes took place, declaring Iran’s military crippled and economy shattered. Trump boasted about the U.S. stock market and job numbers reaching record highs.

“REALLY? Their Military is DONE, their Navy is GONE, their Air Force is GONE, their Launching Pads, Missiles, Drones and Manufacturing of same, is almost GONE, their top two sets of Leaders are GONE, their Inflation is at 250%, their Economy is BROKEN, their Soldiers aren’t being paid, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN, THE OIL IS GUSHING, and the U.S. Stock Market and Jobs are at record HIGHS,” Trump wrote.

Trump has in the past pursued legal action against media organizations like ABC News and CBS News’ 60 Minutes, resolving these disputes out of court. He also filed a lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal after it reported on his associations with the late Jeffrey Epstein.

This story continues to unfold with further developments anticipated.
