Americans are showing a continued interest in national parks, as evidenced by over 320 million visitors last year. However, these popular destinations are currently encountering new political challenges.
There have been directives to update and revise park exhibits, alongside ongoing construction projects initiated by President Trump. These developments in national parks are creating tension and raising concerns among conservationists and park enthusiasts.
Amna Nawaz of PBS News Hour engaged in a conversation with Tiernan Sittenfeld, President and CEO of the National Parks Conservation Association, to delve into these issues. The discussion highlighted the impact of political actions on the future and preservation of national parks.
