Police have identified a suspect accused of attacking women in Philadelphia while wearing a Chucky-style Halloween mask and are urging the public to watch for him as he may have left Pennsylvania. The suspect, Zymire Hughes, 22, has an active warrant for his arrest.
Hughes is allegedly the man seen wearing a mask while threatening a woman. Last Wednesday, he reportedly targeted and chased her. Police allege that he yelled at a woman, asking if she was ‘ready to die’ while pursuing others.
Surveillance footage supposedly captures Hughes running up to individuals in the city. He was denied service at a Dunkin’ Donuts because of the mask. A side-by-side image released by police shows Hughes in costume and chasing a victim near City Hall.
One woman, Jameka Wilson, trained in combat, confronted Hughes when he threatened her. ‘He was not guarding his midsection, so she kicked him hard in the chest. He stumbled and ran,’ she stated.
Hughes is described by police as a Black male with a medium complexion, 5-foot-8, thin build, wearing a white Chucky-style mask with black hair and a black/blue plaid backpack. Police believe Hughes might have ties to California and Nevada.
