Paul George Shines in Celtics Debut

Paul George made a stunning entrance with the Boston Celtics, scoring 31 points in just three quarters against the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. His impressive performance set a new all-time franchise record for the most points in a Celtics debut, surpassing Kristaps Porzingis’s previous record of 30 points set in 2023.

The 36-year-old George is starting his 17th NBA season. He arrived in Boston during the offseason through a major trade that sent Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers. In his debut, George demonstrated his shooting skills by hitting six out of eight attempts from the 3-point line within three quarters.

If he can sustain this level of performance, George will provide strong support to fellow star Jayson Tatum. On this occasion, Tatum struggled from beyond the arc, missing all seven of his attempts.

Despite George’s impressive 38-point game, the Celtics fell to the Pistons with a final score of 121-113.
