Ole Miss is thriving after a big win against LSU. With a perfect 3-0 record, the team climbed to No. 4 in the national rankings. They now face a challenge as they head to “The Swamp” to play against the Florida Gators, another undefeated team under new head coach Jon Sumrall.
On ESPN’s “Get Up,” analysts Joe Fortenbaugh, Dan Orlovsky, and Harry Douglas predicted a win for the Gators. Orlovsky highlighted the emotional impact of Ole Miss’s recent victory. “How will Ole Miss’s players recover emotionally from such a high-energy game last weekend?” he questioned.
Douglas emphasized the superiority of Florida’s skill players compared to LSU’s. “The talent of Jadan Baugh, Dallas Wilson, and Vernell Brown III is unmatched,” he asserted.
Fortenbaugh pointed out the historical challenge of maintaining momentum after significant wins. He cited examples of Texas and Michigan experiencing letdowns following major victories.
Florida’s season started with a dominant 66-21 win against Florida Atlantic, succeeded by a 52-3 victory over Campbell. They demonstrated endurance with a 44-39 triumph over Auburn. Sumrall directed Tulane to an impressive 11-2 record last year, reaching the College Football Playoff. Now, he seeks revenge against Ole Miss, who defeated his team twice last season.
Facing a ranked opponent for the first time, Florida is favored by 3.5 points. Their strong offense and home-field advantage are key factors. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Florida.
