Nicki Minaj recently shared insights about her political views and career progression in an interview with Lara Trump on ‘My View with Lara Trump.’ Acknowledged for her rap achievements, Minaj openly spoke about her support for President Donald Trump and encouraged young Americans to actively participate in the electoral process.
Minaj emphasized the importance of having young people’s voices heard in the upcoming midterm elections. She stated, “Now is not the time to think that your voice will not be heard. Your voice will not only be heard, but your voice is very necessary right now for the country and for the world.” She encouraged engagement beyond presidential elections to include local contests.
On January 28, 2026, Minaj addressed a gathering at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, during the launch of the Trump Accounts program. She stressed the significance of voting in local elections, not just for the presidency, saying, “Think about how much you want a say in what happens and realize that the only way to have that is by voting.” She urged voters to support Republican candidates, encouraging them to “vote red now.”
Minaj has progressively voiced her support for Trump, becoming vocal in various platforms. Her involvement includes partnership with the Trump administration on initiatives like the Small Business Administration’s Million Dollar Pitch Competition, where she served as a celebrity judge. Highlighting the president’s authenticity, Minaj said, “He brings this candid, unedited vibe to the White House that we’ve never before seen.” She added that Trump’s unscripted style is refreshing.
In her conversation with Lara Trump, Minaj expressed her commitment to defend Trump, stating, “I’ve made it my mission to be someone that supports him.” She commented on her experience in an industry that often criticizes the president. Minaj mentioned that her observations of Democrats and their associations with pop culture have influenced her political stance. She believes Democrats have become overly immersed in relationships with entertainers, causing them to act immaturely.
Minaj also recounted her journey to the U.S. and the challenges she overcame in establishing her music career. Reflecting on her fans witnessing her rise from modest beginnings, she said, “My fan base, they got to see me come from absolutely nothing. They really saw the struggle in real time.” Minaj concluded by affirming her love for the country, stating, “Overall, yes, it has been the American dream. That’s why I love this country.”
