The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) launched its latest season under the leadership of Music Director Gianandrea Noseda. The opening-night performance took place at the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, Maryland.
This event marked the beginning of a series of performances in new locations, necessitated by the ongoing closure of the Kennedy Center. The closure stems from what is described as President Donald Trump’s significant mismanagement, leaving the NSO without a permanent venue.
The audience, gathered in the suburban venue located just north of the Capital Beltway, greeted the orchestra with a standing ovation even before the first note was played. The NSO is set to embark on a year-long tour, holding performances at six different venues throughout the region.
