New footage of an unknown military aircraft has garnered significant attention online. Military aircraft, especially those involving plane spotting, are a topic of great interest. The United States, China, Russia, and several other nations are heavily investing in developing new aircraft. Efforts focus on drones, bombers, and next-generation fighter jets, and research and development are continuous.
A recent video, shared by a fan of a YouTube page, shows a large gray aircraft near McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas. The high-tech stealth bomber, the B-21 Raider, was unveiled in December 2022. It is capable of carrying both nuclear and conventional weapons and is designed to fly without a crew. The B-21 is projected to cost nearly $700 million per plane and will replace the B-1 and B-2 bombers, which were first developed during the Cold War.
The aircraft in the video has not been definitively identified. However, it is likely the B-21 Raider.
The B-21 has been spotted publicly on several occasions. It’s rumored that the F-47, a sixth-generation stealth fighter, has only been seen once. The video, when paused at the seven-second mark, shows a reflection off a window, suggesting it could be a B-21. While the RQ-170 or RQ-180 drones are possibilities, the reflection in the video seems inconsistent with a drone.
Opinions are welcome regarding the identity of the aircraft shown. The video is generating discussion and various theories about what it might be.
