Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for Michigan’s Senate seat, addressed allegations regarding his family’s association with the Muslim Brotherhood. On October 14, El-Sayed categorically denied any personal or familial ties to the organization.
Responding to claims based on past social media posts by his half-sister, El-Sayed labeled them as “hearsay.” These posts suggested his mother was involved in the Islamist movement during the 1970s. However, El-Sayed clarified his upbringing, stating, “I wasn’t raised by my mother.”
These allegations have surfaced amid his political campaign, but El-Sayed continues to dismiss them firmly. His focus remains on his Senate bid, aiming to represent Michigan’s interests.
