A tragic incident occurred early Sunday when a man lost his life after crashing his vehicle into a brick structure in Mundelein. The Lake County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 31-year-old Lukas Beelow from Mundelein. An autopsy revealed he died from blunt force trauma.
Authorities received a call about a loud noise around 2:08 a.m. at the intersection of Chevy Chase Road and Hawley Street. When officers arrived, they discovered Beelow’s SUV had collided with the structure. Beelow was declared dead at the scene.
The Mundelein Police Department, along with the Major Crash Assistance Team, is conducting a thorough investigation into the accident.
