LongHorn Steakhouse Faces Scrutiny Over Kitchen Conditions

A LongHorn Steakhouse in East Point, Georgia is under intense scrutiny following the circulation of videos on social media. These videos reportedly show roaches and food waste inside the restaurant’s kitchen.

The recordings were allegedly made by Sean Headley, an employee at the Camp Creek Parkway location. Headley started working at the restaurant in April and decided to document the conditions after voicing concerns to managers and corporate offices, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.

Headley expressed his frustration about the kitchen conditions, which he believed had become unsafe. “Really, it was the work environment and the conditions that we were working in,” he told FOX 5 Atlanta. “There were a lot of inhumane conditions.” The videos appear to depict cockroaches crawling on the kitchen floor and food waste scattered about.

After his concerns went unanswered, Headley shared the footage on social media. In response, LongHorn Steakhouse issued a statement to FOX 5 Atlanta, acknowledging that the conditions shown were unacceptable and had been addressed. They also mentioned appointing a new leader to maintain strict standards.

The viral videos have prompted Fulton County health officials to plan a follow-up inspection of the restaurant, as reported by WSB-TV in Atlanta. The Georgia Department of Public Health previously inspected the restaurant on August 25, awarding it a score of 90, or an “A.” Over the past two years, inspection scores at this location have ranged from 88 to 91.

Online discussions have been sparked by these videos, with users criticizing the reported conditions. Comments emphasized the importance of addressing sanitation issues instead of ignoring them, and some pointed out the responsibility of restaurant workers to prevent foodborne illness.

Some individuals also questioned how the restaurant had managed to pass previous health inspections despite the alleged conditions.

Kelly McGreal, a production assistant with Fox News Digital’s lifestyle team, contributed to the report.
